So, guys, an old friend of mine is in town. So if you see an eccentric lady with purple-gold hair and goes by Sophia or Sophie, she isn't a danger to you or anything.

Also, she's going to be asking some of you now/later for some help to help her beat up those masked hooligans with the Ancient Gears, that are attacking a very important tree in a very special forest that really shouldn't be messed with.

I want to say "Make the world a better place", remove stupid rules of things, make people happier. Less nukes.

He thinks it's evil and has no actual benefit for you all.

And he doesn't want children and babies automatically enrolled into it.

Maybe make it have an actual end date? Though presumably it'd need a Faustian bargain to make it hard to actually achieve it...

He'd be right. Other than the power in life, there is no other benefit for us. The contract is designed to drive us to an early grave in most cases, usually after we have children in order to ensure that more servants will be created in time.

Even with our power, for many of us, such as myself, it can only act as a hindrance or danger.

There is no clear end to it, because the Fiend never intended on giving us up, or allowing us to even pass on.

So what would be your suggestions for improving it?

... Or hell, I could try and end the current contract and pass it onto a new one.

I'd like this to become a symbiotic rather than parasitic relationship.

Honestly, a problem is... I know it is troublesome, but it is what I have had time to adjust to.

Though... it would be nice if there was a set "end" point for this. I do appreciate that through this... I have gotten a second chance at life. But at the same time, I know that is only possible under you. That was never an intention of the Fiend.

You all deserve a second chance at life or at least a chance to set your affairs in order. What the Fiend wants or wanted no longer matters, and frankly, was very shortsighted and small minded.

Which is why I'm asking you to think better.

How about this, I try to make the current contract end at a certain date and offer to replace it with a more opt-in version?

... If you feel that it would work... I would not object to it, necessarily.

I do not want anyone else to have to go through what I experienced, mistress.
